In 2020, big plans were laid to celebrate 40 years of support to young local artists on their road to musical careers. The COVID-19 pandemic temporarily put these celebrations on hold. However, an exciting partnership with the Edmonton Chamber Music Society is finally allowing the ABMF to make a Ruby Concert happen!
Next month, the 2022 Summer Solstice Music Festival will be including a Ruby Concert featuring former ABMF scholarship recipients or “Burrows Alumni”, including:
- Jessica Linnebach, violin;
- Gabrielle Després, violin;
- Ewald Cheung, violin;
- Sonya Shin, violin;
- Keith Hamm, viola (guest);
- Leanne Maitland, viola;
- Caroline Stinson, cello;
- Kathleen de Caen, cello;
- Robert Spady, clarinet; and
- Sarah Ho, piano.
Among the works to be featured is Mendelssohn’s beloved String Octet.
This concert will take place Tuesday, June 21, 2022, 7:30 pm at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 10037-84 Ave. Edmonton.
The Summer Solstice Music Festival runs from June 16th to 24th, 2022. Other summer solstice concerts showcasing Burrows Alumni include:
- Thursday June 16 – The Art of Cake, Caroline Stinson, cello; and
- Saturday, June 18 – Gabrielle Despres, violin; Caroline Stinson, cello.
