On November 12, 2020, the Quatuor Bozzini, including ABMF alumnus Alissa Cheung, virtually performed Trip, a string quartet repertoire involving pieces written specifically for the group! Trip pushes the boundaries of sound with "counterpoint, grotesque waltzes, canons, and even the occasional unexpected appearance of sounds from a live-tuned radio". You can listen to sound clips or purchase the CD here.
Current recipient, Jessica Yuma, will be participating in a live stream performance with the National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa tonight! This concert will showcase the incredible talents of CBC’s classical “30 under 30” artists for 2020, including Ms. Yuma, who will be the 2nd guest soloist performing Chopin’s Grande Polonaise Brilliante.
Tune in on the NAC website event page, or on the NACO Facebook page, at 6:00 p.m. MST or 8:00 p.m. EST! Current recipient, Gabrielle Després, was recently featured on the NACO Lunch Break series! Gabrielle, accompanied by her father and former ABMF Board member, Jacques Després, performed a beautiful rendition of the second movement of the Sonata for Violin and Piano No.1, Op.58 in G major by Brahms, which you can watch here.
